I was walking around Capitola Village the other day with my kids and realized that here in northern California spring is definitely here! The air permeated with the smell of the ocean and the sun's warmth seemed to cover us like a blanket. The sea, sun and calm of these early days of spring seem to inspire me to design for the next season, Spring/Summer 2014. I defnitely want to capture all the textures and colors I saw... maybe through prints and patterns? More to come with that.
So, I'm 8 months pregnant and really wish that I could wear some of the things in this current season's collection. I would love to rock the floral pants (Dash Pants in floral) or the Calla skirt with a simple tank top. It would have been the perfect outfit for walking around the beach. I definitely needed something light and airy. Maternity pants have got to be the most unappealing thing someone can wear. I do appreciate the elastic band, but that's about it.

Thank you Spring for coming to Santa Cruz. I'm done with the cold and ready to shed all the bulk from winter. Now to sketching, collecting more inspiration and draping for spring/summer '14!!!
